Due to our cottage license, we operate on a direct-to-consumer model, meaning our bread is not available in stores. However, you can order for pickup or delivery directly through our storefront. We also participate in farmers' markets and local vendor events—sign up for our newsletter or follow us on social media to stay updated!
We completely understand the desire for delicious gluten-free bread—Jen’s own journey with gluten-free eating for seven years is what originally sparked her sourdough passion.
That said, we do not offer gluten-free breads. Our kitchen is not a dedicated gluten-free space, making it impossible to guarantee no cross-contamination. Because customer safety is our top priority, we cannot confidently label any of our products as "safely" gluten-free.
Since WHS sourdough contains no preservatives, a loaf will typically stay fresh for 3–5 days when wrapped and stored on your counter. However, temperature, humidity, and ingredients can affect this timeline. Sandwich breads and loaves with inclusions (like cheese or fruit) won’t last as long as plain, artisan loaves.
The good news? Sourdough freezes beautifully! We recommend slicing your loaf before freezing so you can take out just what you need. To defrost, leave slices on the counter, warm them wrapped in foil in a low oven, or heat briefly in the microwave. Avoid refrigerating sourdough—it will dry out.
Absolutely! If your loaf has hardened, try this trick:
- Lightly wet the crust under running water (yes, really!).
- Place in a preheated 350°F oven for a few minutes to refresh.
Or, get creative! Stale sourdough makes amazing croutons or breadcrumbs.
